SKIP COSTA is the National Director & Owner of NEW YORK LOS ANGELES DANCE CONVENTIONS & COMPETITIONS (NYLA DANCE) as well as the Founder and Artistic Director of SKIP COSTA.COREmovementPROJECT.NYC, NYLA DANCE National Youth Performance Project, the Southeast Dance Festival, and the off-Broadway theater experience ROCK STARS NYC combining live rock music and dance. He has been a featured dancer with Mark Dendy Dance (Choreographer of Broadway’s TABOO), David Rousseve/REALITY, The Kennedy Center’s Washington Opera, The New Orleans Ballet Association, Maida Withers DCC and Liz Lerman Dance Exchange. He has choreographed Off & Off-Off Broadway dance projects at Times Square Theater, The Tribeca Playhouse, The Richard Ellner Theater, and the American Theater of Actors as well as for the American Dance Guild, The Elan Awards(honoring Jerry Mitchell and Anne Reinking), DRA, Urban Artworks 7, DancenowNYC, Jennifer Muller/The Works HATCH Series, DUMBO Arts Festival, RedEye Theater(MN), New Dance Group, Coming Together, University Settlement, 92nd Street Y, The Best of BDC, and various NYC studio showcases.
He has taught & lectured for numerous high schools, colleges, & universities within the US and has taught/performed with his dance company within the US, Eastern Europe, and Western Europe. In Manhattan, he was on permanent faculty at Broadway Dance Center, Steps, Peridance Center, Ballet Arts, NDG, and Dance Space(now Gina Gibney Dance). He has also served as Acting Director of the Uptown Performance Series at The Bridge For Dance, which was highlighted by The New York Times.
During the summer, he teaches in NYC as well as directs the Southeast InterARTS(tm) Festival in Louisiana for young professionals. He has also directed/choreographed/produced an independent dance video “Dancing Alone”.
Currently is on the dance faculty at Southeastern Louisiana University and serves on the National Board of Directors for ACDA. He has an MFA in Dance & Choreography from The George Washington University.
ASHLEY LEWIS has been dancing for 20 plus years and did competitive dance for 11 years winning various awards and titles. In 2009 she became a member of the New Orleans Saintsations and has proudly represented the New Orleans Saints for 5 years. In 2010 she performed at Superbowl XLIV in Miami, FL when the New Orleans Saints won their first Superbowl. Ashley was also named the 2013 Pro Bowl Cheerleader where she performed in Hawaii with other Pro NFL Cheerleaders as well as famous pop-rock band Train. She’s traveled not just locally but all over the world performing in areas such as Mexico City, Iraq, Kuwait, Djibouti, Bahrain, and Shanghai. Ashley also assists and choreographs with numerous dance teams around the New Orleans & Gulf Coast areas. She’s choreographed for the New Orleans Saintsations where they performed her routine in the Mercedes Benz Superdome. She was also casted with Elite Casino Marketing in Biloxi, MS as a performer at the Hard Rock Casino for their 2016 summer vaudeville show called “Show Risqué”. Ashley is a graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University where she was a dance instructor teaching several college dance courses. Ashley is also a member of Dance Educators of America.
BROOKE MIXON PERRIN is a choreographer, dancer, and former NFL Cheerleader in the Louisiana area. She has had the privilege of performing and traveling with several award-winning dance groups. Brooke has spent the last year working with local dance organizations in the Southeast Region of the US setting choreography and working with administrative concepts to help dance studios become more successful. She currently is the program coordinator of Tangi Outreach Dance and Cheer competitions. She has had the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers Chio, Sheila Barker, and Rhaspody & Jermaine. She also participated in a summer internship at Broadway Dance Center in New York City.
THEA JAWORSKI has been dancing since the age of 7 throughout the Triangle North Carolina area. Thea has had the pleasure of dancing for Gene Medler, Eileen Juric, Mandy Moore, Nick Lazzarini, Sonya Tayeh, Doug Caldwell, Joelle Martinec, Martha Nichols, Jason Parsons, Ashley Lindsey, Teddy Forance, and Peter Chu. In Manhattan, Thea has the experience of training with Loni Landon, Benjamin Levy, Lauren Adams, Selly Masenoir Hutchinson, Sidra Bell, Sheryl Murakami, Mishay Petronelli, Gregory Dolbashian, Finis Jhung, Dorit Koppel, Joshua Bergasse, Slam, and Brice Mousset. During her time in NYC, she closely studied under the direction of Calen J. Kurka, Chris Hale, Anna Vollmar, David Howard, Matthew Powell, and Melissa Wolfe Rosebro learning extensive techniques of contemporary, ballet, pilates, gyrokinesis, improvisation, partnering, nutrition, and anatomy as well as performing with a contemporary program called Pushing Progress and working at Broadway Dance Center. Thea is currently on faculty with American Dance Festival in Durham, NC and Millennium Dance Complex in Denver, CO. She is also a certified BalletBurn fitness instructor under the direction of Carolina Ballet veteran Margot Martin.
ALLISON LUCA is a native of Baltimore, Maryland who has been dancing since age three. She trained at Spotlight Studio of Dance throughout her whole adolescence where she learned to be proficient in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, and hip-hop. She went on to further her training at Point Park University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance. She is also a certified teacher for The McGovern Method, a conditioning program for dancers helping to prevent injury while strengthening and toning muscles. Allison has had the opportunity to perform as a back-up dancer for the Backstreet Boys and has worked with professional choreographers such as Travis Wall among others. She is currently teaching & choreographing at three dance studios in Long Island, NY where her mission is to inspire dancers through movement, creating a positive environment to grow as a person & as a dancer. Allison also works with the non-profit, Alliance for Career & Education (ACE), presenting programs, information, and resources to equip students with the tools and guidance they need to complete a career development process focused on success on their terms.
AMANDA HEYMAN-GREAGER received a ballet scholarship to Broadway Dance Center in New York City and multiple scholarships to train with renowned teachers in Los Angeles, CA. She has been a professional commercial dancer starring in an international tour with Flo Rida and has worked as a backup dancer in awards shows, music videos and movies such as: Premios Juventud/Los Nuestros, The Teen Choice Awards, The Ellen Show, The Today Show, The Voice, The X Factor, The Latin Grammys, STEP UP-Revolution, and more. She has also danced along side artists – Chris Brown, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, Becky G, and Kesha. She has won choreography and entertainment awards at StarPower, StarQuest, In10sity, Star Systems, Legacy, KAR, and more.
CRYSTAL SCHAYOT is a multi-talented artist, originally from New Orleans, whose first and foremost passion is dance, but is also an avid visual artist and certified instructor, photographer, dance costume designer, model, film and stage actress, and pageant coach! She has been dancing for over 20 years, 10 of which competitively and as a dance educator/choreographer. She has earned numerous high scoring and overall awards for performance and choreography and was crowned Pro Miss NYLA Dance 2014 and Miss New Orleans National Model USA 2010-12. As a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, she has continued to support and work with the Dance Performance Project and the theatre honor’s society, Alpha Psi Omega. As a versatile performer and educator, she specializes in musical theatre/jazz, hip hop, and contemporary, but also has extended training in tap, ballet/pointe, lyrical, modern, and even some ballroom. Aside from Southeast Louisiana, she has trained, taught, and performed in major cities such as Mobile, Little Rock, Panama City Beach, Orlando, Myrtle Beach, Houston, New York City, and even internationally in London, Madrid, Dublin, and Cozumel. She is a core member of the international non-profit organization, The Breakthrough Outreach & Performance Company and the artistic director for The Wicked Little Voodoo Dolls performance group and the PRISM Dance Productions YouTube Channel. In order to continue inspiring, motivating and creating, she will be opening her own inter-arts studio in Southeast Louisiana.
